ABWK Project Eligibility | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Repair project eligibility is
determined by the following factors:
To qualify for the joint CNHFH/ USDA 504 grant the additional requirements apply: 2011
Income Guidelines
CNHFH will use A
Brush With Kindness to
perform activities that
include external painting, landscaping, yard cleanup and minor repairs
that create significant exterior
improvements on owner-occupied
homes. Interior projects include painting or minor construction repair
work
after events such as fires, floods, etc.
To qualify for the Health and Safety eligibility requirement, repairs will include lead-based paint removal, debris clean up and hazard removal, and minor construction projects that make a home handicap accessible. Sweat equity requirements are different for repair projects which take place while the families are living in their homes and the partners are often seniors and/or disabled. Therefore required sweat equity hours are reflectively fewer and different in practice. Sweat Equity is valued at 1 Sweat Equity hour per $175.00 value of the project, with a minimum of 8 hours required. A Brush with Kindness projects have a maximum requirement of 60 Sweat Equity Hours. Sweat equity is typically earned by the family by providing food and snacks to volunteers, and through minor activity participation and clean up at the comfort level of the partner. At least 4 Sweat Equity hours are required before the project starts. |
